Submission: Team Noboto

We watched and listened to the raw material, brainstormed a bit with a whiteboard, and decided to base our piece on a theme of three seasons – Fall, Winter, and Spring. Kandace used Final Cut Pro to prepare and sort through the video footage into groups, while Ray used Soundtrack Pro to prepare the audio, and Ableton Live to compose three songs. We then took turns passing the three videos back and forth and arranging the video bits to suit the music, and then together brought the pieces into a unified whole. We kept our creative edge by each using software we weren’t familiar with, and kept our sanity by listening to The Go! Team.

Thank you all for participating in Ingredients 2006. It was a great night. There has been much reflection already as to what can be improved and how we can make it different and exciting for next year. It would be great to get approval from everyone to post your videos on this website along with a short blurb of how you went about your creative process. This year’s music videos won’t be posted until the end of May, so, you have time to think about it.

Many thanks for your hard work,

Sonic Arts

Sonic Arts Presents: Ingredients 2006 April 15th @ Holocene

Ingredients: An event where community comes together to nurture the blend of technology and art. The evening will present local artists’ Ingredients work and be augmented by MCs, DJs, performances, and cool random givaways from M-Audio, Cycling 74, Sonic Arts and audioMIDI. The event is FREE to the over-21-year-old public and should provide a unique and entertaining look at how our city’s artists work creatively under time and material constraints.

Guidelines for participating artists

Unlike last year’s Ingredients media art challenge in which video and music were divided into two separate categories, this year’s invitational marries music and video under ruled time and content constraints. This experiment requires artistic teams to create one single music video piece 3-6 minutes long using limited source materials within 24hrs. No pre-arranged sounds or images are allowed to be used; only the given source materials may be used in the artwork. You may manipulate, but are not allowed to add to the source materials with any outside materials.
